June 11, 13, 14

Howdy- I hope the world is treating you well- and you it. I’ve got several shows stretching out over the next few days and hope to see many of you out and about. Please remember to display your U.S. flags properly on Flag Day the 14th. In good times and bad our country is probably as good as it gets.

I’ve got four trips coming up that would be great for overnight get-aways. This Friday the 11th in Poplar Bluff, MO, Thursday the 17th in Springfield, IL, Sunday the 20th near Carbondale, IL, and Thursday July 1st in Chicago, IL. Don’t you deserve a night away from home?

This week’s ringtone/download combo is I Would a jazzy little number from “Golden” and can be had, as usual, for merely $3

I’ll be flailing away on the strings at …

Debt and Taxes 2010

Greeeeeeeeeee tings! I hope you had a Happy Easter. Just a reminder- get your taxes done- time is running out. I was able to find all of my paper work and get it to the accountant (Les) in time to spend the last few days of spring break converting my CD collection over to cassettes.

I had a great time playing in Chicago and then after the Culinaria gig in downtown STL on Thursday had the good fortune to sit in with Steve Reeb (Steve plays every Thursday in Soulard at Johnny’s) and Ed Belling (Ed works as a solo, duo, trio or whatever size group shows up -Pickin’ Likin’ plays the Shanti-Soulard every other Saturday) We played together for the first time (no rehearsal either) in Lafayette Square at the benefit for Officer Haynes.

Big doin’s this week with Poplar Bluff, MO/Makanda, IL/ and Grafton!

If you don’t want to drive to Makanda but do want to catch some great live music Saturday try the Airport Bowl in Bethalto, IL where the inimitable Christopher Sutton and his band The Uzual Suspecks will be performing – I believe start time is 9 pm.

New feature- my good friend Stephen Koritta inspired this. (Stephen by the way plays every Sunday for the brunch at Hidden Lake Winery and is a published poet). I am the proud owner of a copy of his 2nd book- “Vocal Folds”

Stephen’s favorite song off of the new CD is “Soulard Lady” and so without further ado- RINGTONE FOR Soulard Lady Pretty Cool Huh!

Lance Brendel has already requested next week’s ring tone but turn in your requests for future ringtones provided by Reverbnation.

Requests can be from either Golden or Eons.

If you would like to be removed from this list .. and this is no joke I’m sure you’ve got better things to do than read a bunch of meaningless drivel from me and well, I don’t want to be a nuisance and so I really want to make sure that …. and don’t misunderstand me here.. this is as good as done… because I have absolutely no intent of bothering you or anyone else for that matter … cause I realize the importance of your time here and after all that’s what is really important. Okay?

Greetings,

“And they who for their country die shall fill an honored grave, for glory lights the soldier’s tomb, and beauty weeps the brave” ~Joseph Drake

On the eleventh hour of the eleventh day of the eleventh month of 1918 the armistice went into effect that ended the fighting of World War I.

Be sure to thank all vets for the freedoms we enjoy.

Big doin’s again this week.

If you prefer not to receive these emails I understand and will do my best to be certain to be sure to optimize the opportunity for you to have some sort of method of letting the sender understand that you no longer want to be a receptor of the missives and the contents therein which may be construed as “email” and inasmuch will endeavor to persevere in that effort which might conclusively disinhinder the sender of said messages from not discerning the meaning which you intend.

What groundhogs listen to when they’re not looking for their shadows- a little bluesy, a little jazzy, but not too far from the rock.
