June 11, 13, 14

Howdy- I hope the world is treating you well- and you it. I’ve got several shows stretching out over the next few days and hope to see many of you out and about. Please remember to display your U.S. flags properly on Flag Day the 14th. In good times and bad our country is probably as good as it gets.

I’ve got four trips coming up that would be great for overnight get-aways. This Friday the 11th in Poplar Bluff, MO, Thursday the 17th in Springfield, IL, Sunday the 20th near Carbondale, IL, and Thursday July 1st in Chicago, IL. Don’t you deserve a night away from home?

This week’s ringtone/download combo is I Would a jazzy little number from “Golden” and can be had, as usual, for merely $3

I’ll be flailing away on the strings at …

March 17th, 19th and 20th-

How-do-you-do my friends?

Many big doings in the works. I’ve got a couple of bookings at southern Illinois wineries coming up – Blue Sky in Makanda (April) and Owl Creek in Cobden (May) are already confirmed and I believe there will be a few more dates forthcoming.

Scnuck’s Culinaria in downtown STL proved to be fun and interesting – I’m not sure I’ve ever seen so many drunk people in a grocery store in the afternoon. I’ve got return dates there in April, July and August. Clean-up on aisle six.

Do some wearin’ o’ the Green on Wednesday March 17th at Houlihan’s!!! Six music acts from 2 pm to midnight.

There’s a tear in your eye,
And I’m wondering why,
For it never should be there at all.
With such pow’r in your smile,
Sure a stone you’d beguile,
So there’s never a teardrop should fall.
When your sweet lilting laughter’s
Like some fairy song,
And your eyes twinkle bright as can be;
You should laugh all the while
And all other times smile,
And now, smile a smile for me.

When Irish eyes are smiling,
Sure, ’tis like the morn in Spring.
In the lilt of Irish laughter
You can hear the angels sing.
When Irish hearts are happy,
All the world seems bright and gay.
And when Irish eyes are smiling,
Sure, they steal your heart away.

For your smile is a part
Of the love in your heart,
And it makes even sunshine more bright.
Like the linnet’s sweet song,
Crooning all the day long,
Comes your laughter and light.
For the springtime of life
Is the sweetest of all
There is ne’er a real care or regret;
And while springtime is ours
Throughout all of youth’s hours,
Let us smile each chance we get.

When Irish eyes are smiling,
Sure, ’tis like the morn in Spring.
In the lilt of Irish laughter
You can hear the angels sing.
When Irish hearts are happy,
All the world seems bright and gay.
And when Irish eyes are smiling,
Sure, they steal your heart away.

Have a great week- be safe,
Bud

March 2010- in like a lion and out like a lamb? Or vice versa?

3rd in Soulard, 6th CD Release at Mac’s, 8th Houlihan’s Fairview Hts

It appears as though March has crept stealthily upon us. I am absolutely not ready for the CD release but let the games begin.

Looking ahead, I’ve added another date in Chicago and will be playing both Sunday the 28th and Monday the 29th in the Windy City.

If you’re looking for a fun road trip this would be a good one. I recommend the Clubhouse Inn and Suites in Westmont.

There are still tickets available for the release party Saturday evening- but hurry!!!

Today I received solemn promises that there will be CDs (free with your ticket) and T Shirts if you’d like to purchase one (The “Can’t Stop The BS” 2009 Tour Shirt is still available and the new shirt is a commemorative one for the CD release)

Sunday, January 10th, 2010

Hi how’s it going?

So – last night I finished playing at 10 pm. I said “thank you and goodnight”. As I’m putting my guitar away, a guy puts two twenties in my tip jar and says he wants another 40 minutes of music. I got nothin’ to do so I plug my guitar back in and hit a chord.

He yells out “play some Harry Chapin”.

I leaned in to the mic and said “if your picking the set list it’ll cost another $40″.

This week I’ll be regaling your ears at something old and something new. At the new one, Oregon Trail, I’ll be playing two sets of original music from “Golden” and “Eons”. I’ll also be reminding you to get your tickets for the big CD release party on Saturday March 6th at Mac’s.

You can now buy your tickets at Mac’s – they have some great specials during the week- so stop in and have a bite to eat and pick up some tickets.
You can still order through my website http://www.budsummers.com or by giving me a call or an email or just stopping by my house unannounced.

I would be remiss if I didn’t mention that you may want to tune in to AM 1570 on Tuesday the 19th at 4:00 pm. I’ll be Mike Montgomery’s guest on Matinee Madness and plan to give away a pair of tickets.

Please try to join me at:

What groundhogs listen to when they’re not looking for their shadows- a little bluesy, a little jazzy, but not too far from the rock.

Monday, May 11th, 2009

I am worn out.  Had a pretty big week with The Shanti in Soulard, St Louis, MO followed by afternoon gigs two days in a row in Grafton, IL followed by Houlihan’s in Fairview Heights, IL. I hate to turn down opportunities but I may have to be more careful with my schedule until summer gets here and I don’t have to be at work during the day.
